Website Development for an Industrial Tools Supplier in Sharjah, UAE

A quote-led catalogue website for WME, listing 1,697 industrial tools with WhatsApp enquiries, across three UAE locations.

WME's previous WordPress-style website with a sidebar category menu, best sellers grid and industrial applications section, before the Next.js rebuild

This was a full rebuild of WME's existing website, not a first launch. The previous site (shown above) was a template-style build: a sidebar category menu, a best-sellers grid and a quick enquiry form, with no real product catalogue behind it. WME's actual range, industrial tools, equipment and hardware across power tools, welding gear, generators, pumps and lifting equipment, existed only in spreadsheets: supplier price lists, container manifests and stock dumps, each in a different layout, with no shared SKU format and no link between a product row and its photo. A procurement manager checking whether WME stocked a specific grinder had no page to land on.

We rebuilt the site from the ground up on Next.js, reading its catalogue from a published Google Sheet so WME's own staff could add, edit or hide a product without a developer or CMS training. The navigation follows how trade buyers actually search, category, then subcategory, then brand, settled into 16 categories and 60 subcategories after auditing every product. Instead of a shopping cart, we built a quote basket: visitors add products, choose a collection point across WME's three UAE locations, and send the list to the sales team on WhatsApp or email, no prices shown, no checkout, matching how WME already quotes trade pricing per customer.

The catalogue arrived in five separate imports over the build, growing from 487 to 1,697 products without a single product URL ever breaking. Product photography came with no SKU to match on, pulled from spreadsheet cells and hand-named folders, so we extracted and scored images against brand and model number, then visually checked every pairing, ending with photography on over 1,300 of 1,697 products. A full category audit against the agreed taxonomy caught 281 miscategorised products (hand saws filed under Power Tools, engine stands under Generators) before launch.

Every product page carries brand, SKU, category path, a quantity selector and two ways to enquire: add to quote basket, or ask on WhatsApp with the product name and SKU pre-filled. The three physical branches are built into the site's structure rather than bolted on: each has its own hours, phone, WhatsApp number, map and collection-point option on every form, so a lead arrives already routed to the right counter. A separate service centre booking form captures equipment type, brand, model and fault for repairs, routed to the service team's own WhatsApp line rather than sales.

Technical SEO was part of the build, not a later phase. Every product, category and brand page generates its own title, meta description and canonical URL straight from the sheet, so adding a row produces a correctly tagged page automatically. Structured data covers an Organization node, a store node per branch with real coordinates and hours, FAQ markup, and a sitemap listing all 1,697 product URLs. Measured against the live site, the homepage scores 100/100 on Lighthouse desktop performance with zero layout shift.
